Russian Martial Art - ROSS

The ROSS Training System (the Russian Native System of Self-Defense) is a creative training system that was developed by it founder, Alexander Ivanovich Retuinskih.
ÐÎÑÑ is unique system of self-defense that is constructed on effective tactics of actions. It takes into account the biomechanical features of people and their differences. This system represents a set of the core movements that are based on mechanics that are in everyone person's skill set.
The elements of movement and the sequences of performance of exercises rely on the internal reflexes known as «the block of natural reactions of an organism» and can be applied to any given situation.
The ROSS Training System was recognized and certified by the World Council of Grand Masters of Martial Arts «World Head of Family Sokeship Council» as an independent direction in the world of martial arts in 1998. The world Council of Grand Masters of Martial Arts was created in America in May, 1993. At the moment this organization includes over 160 members from all ends of the world representing various styles of martial arts. The founder of the ROSS Training System, Alexander Ivanovich Retuinskih, was inducted into the council of Grandmasters.
For all of its work, the Federation was recognized and registered by the Olympic Committee of Russia as a unique sports and public association within the borders of the Russian Federation. As such, it maintains development of this kind of sports at a federal level and represents its interests abroad (Report N8 from the May 23, 1994 session of the commission concerning the recognition and registration of sports organizations).
A distinctive feature of the ROSS Training System is its non-standard and multi-variant approach. In ROSS, there is no such concept as "technique". Variants of use of core movements of the ROSS Training System depend on circumstances and conditions of their application. It excludes repeatability of variations so that it does not give to the opponent the possibility for counter-action. During a combative encounter, core movements are used continuously to reach the utter defeat of the opponent, and each previous movement is the beginning of the subsequent.
The ROSS Training System is designed for any age or state of health, taking into account the least expense of forces, time, and energy. The acquisition of skills and abilities comes from studying Russian national games, dances, Slavic folklore, and nature laws. With the correct application of ROSS, a person might only spend about 25-30 % of  bioenergy potential that allows an organism to sustain itself in the course of a combative encounter and to continue operations beyond all bounds of time, including in a weakened condition.
The use of ROSS Training does not depend upon the knowledge and biomobility of athletes who already engage in other kinds of combats. The reason for this is that ROSS it is based on use of the congenital reflexes of the person, does not demand any special equipment for employment, and in the initial stages of training, it can be used for the perfection of already available skills.
